Leighton R. Lloyd

Leighton R. Lloyd specializes in film finance, mostly serving the commercial, entertainment, and banking sectors.  He also enjoys working with individual authors, sportspeople, musicians, and other creative talent.  His practice areas include entertainment law, media and intellectual property, music, mergers and acquisitions, and management buyouts.

He has represented and worked on film financing with a diverse range of clients regarding banking, equity, and international tax incentives, as well as offering strategic advice to producers, banks, and commercial equity investors.  Mr. Lloyd most enjoys being actively part of the entrepreneurial side of film financing and production and music promotion.  He is currently producing his own film in partnership with other producers.  His film credentials are included in IMDB.com.

During more than two decades of practicing law, he has been noted in The Legal 500 and Chambers (both British publications) as an expert in his field, and has become a national and international specialist in film finance.  He is now based in Century City, although his work takes him to all parts of the world.

Mr. Lloyd gained his legal qualifications from College of Law Guildford (now known as The University Of Law Guildford) in the United Kingdom.  He subsequently qualified as a foreign lawyer with the New York Bar in 2011.  As a member of both the English and New York bars, he brings an international perspective and entrepreneurial approach to his practice that his clients find invaluable.

In rare moments when he is not leading clients through the legal labyrinth, Mr. Lloyd enjoys staging fundraising concerts for UK charities Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Nurses with musicians such as Boy George and Rick Astley, among others.  A keen guitarist, he has more than once been spotted on stage himself, busting out a few tunes.
